Netflix is set to end its partnership with House of Cards after a deal was struck to stream the series to subscribers of its online streaming service.
House of Cards, a Netflix original series set in the fictional American capital of DC, was renewed for a second season on the streaming service after being renewed for four seasons in January.
The streaming service said in a statement on Tuesday that it was ending its partnership “to provide House of Card with an opportunity to further explore its creative possibilities.”
The news comes as Netflix is preparing to release a new season of its Emmy-winning drama House of Lies, which was first ordered in 2017.
House Of Cards season two was first broadcast in December 2017.
